1. What is an electronic book?
An ebook is the digital media equivalent of a conventional printed book.
Ebooks are usually read on computers or dedicated hardware devices known
as ebook readers.

Adobe and ePub. Amazon Kindle files can only be bought from www.amazon.com.

5. What’s the difference between
an ePub ebook and an Adobe ebook?
EPub ebooks offer reflowable text, which means that you can change the
font, resize the text, or alter the size of your display and the text
of the ePub ebook 'reflows' to fill the available view area. This makes
ePub ebooks the optimal choice for reading ebooks on small screens. While
Adobe ebooks are reflowable on some devices (such as the Sony Reader),
one of the main strengths of the Adobe format is its ability to preserve
the layout of complex documents.
6. Can I buy Kindle ebooks from the
Learning Matters website?
No, Amazon only allow Kindle ebooks to be bought from www.amazon.com
(and not yet from Amazon.co.uk, which is why all Kindle prices are in
US dollars).
7. Do I have to pay delivery charges
and VAT for ebooks?
You do not have to pay delivery charges, and VAT is included within the
price of the ebook.
8. What do I need to read an ebook?
First you need to download Adobe Digital Editions on to your computer
which you’ll use to read both Adobe and ePub ebooks. If you’d
like a portable device on which to read ebooks you’ll need to buy
an ebook reader.

10. How do I buy an ebook?
Use our title search facility to search for the title you’d like.
Then follow the link to the title page and click on the ‘buy now’
option next to the title (depending on which format you’d like)
You can also buy our ebooks from Blackwell and
John Smith and Son.
11. Can I order ebooks by phone?
No, you can only buy ebooks from our website or the websites of online
retailers.
12. Can I read ebooks on my Macintosh?
Yes, Adobe Digital Editions is available for Mac OS X v10.4.10 or v10.5.
13. Can I print my ebook?
Our Digital Rights Management permits you to print up to 20 pages a day.
14. Can I share my ebook with my friends?
No. Our Digital Rights Management does not permit you to send your ebook
to someone else via email or register it to a device in another person’s
name.
15. How long will it take to download
an ebook?
The ebook shouldn’t take longer than 2-3 minutes to download.
16. Do I need to be connected to the
internet to read my ebook?
No. Once you have paid for and downloaded your ebook you can read it offline
without being connected to the internet.
17. What is the returns policy for

All ebooks are non-returnable.
